Why Did You Decide to Adopt?

Parents during home studyThe adoption process at Adoption Choices of Florida begins with the home study. This is when a social worker or agency counselor visits your home and discusses the adoption process with your family. During this meeting, you will submit personal documents, tell us more about why you’ve decided to adopt, and learn more about the adoption process.

This is not a pass or fail test that determines whether or not you’re “qualified” to adopt a child. Rather, this is an opportunity for you to learn more about the process and decide if this the right decision for your family. We can discuss your preferences for the adoption plan and tell you more about what is and isn’t realistic. When the home study is complete, you will need to submit an application to become a “waiting family” with our agency. Once we have your application on file, we can start looking for suitable matches with our listed birth families.
