We Provide Support Before & After Your Pregnancy
There is a lot to think about when you place your child into adoption. This is a big decision, and sometimes you will feel secure in your choice while other moments will be more uncertain. It’s good to have a support system during this period. If you feel like you need someone to talk to, the adoption counselors at Adoption Choices of Florida will be at your disposal. We have helped many people through the adoption process and understand many of the concerns, thoughts, and fears people experience during and after pregnancy. Our compassionate team will be there to provide the support you need.
We’re Here to Listen so You Can Make Your Own Decision
It can be difficult to discuss your decision to place a child with a loving adoptive family with others – even friends or family. Many people have strong opinions about adoption, and sometimes even well-meaning advice is more focused on pushing someone’s own beliefs than considering what’s best for you.
The purpose of supportive counseling is to provide you with a listening ear as you talk about what you’re feeling during this time. It is important to us that everyone involved feels confident that they are able to make their own informed decisions. Counseling offers you an opportunity to discuss what you’re thinking without concern that the person listening will try to sway you to their opinion. Our adoption counselors have worked with many people in situations similar to yours, and they will offer their thoughts and advice without putting any pressure on you to make a decision one way or the other.
Adoption is an emotional process, and feelings won’t automatically resolve themselves even after the adoption is over. This is why we continue to provide supportive counseling to birth mothers even after they give birth.
